We had a fabulous response to the Loblaws cards; we bought every single card that was in stock. We have been approved for a different and better system. This program will be more advantageous to all parents and to the team. The choice of retailers is much greater and each parent will also receive a discount.

Each gift card gives the team a percentage. Half of this amount is your discount, the other half goes to the team. For example,

• you'd pay $98.50 for a $100 card at Metro or Food Basics, you save $1.50, and the team gets *another* $1.50.You do not get any rebates later, you pay $98.50 upfront.
• you'd pay $90 for a $100 card from AMC theaters, you save $10 and the team gets another $10.
• you'd pay $98 for a $100 card from PetroCanada, and the team gets another $2

This beats Air Miles, Aeroplan and rewards cards programs out there as this is hard cash up front, and there is no annual fee. Denominations vary from $25/$50/$100/$250, and the discounts vary from 2% to 20%.

If parents buy these cards regularly the team will raise enough funds to pay for the practice field, for the tournaments, and to get a big discount in next winter's soccer.
